I thought I was at wits' end when my girl was diagnosed with renal disease - about middle stage, at that. But she had also had issues with pancreatitis as well. It meant she needed a low fat, low protein diet, and I could always find either/or but never both at the same time.
Lo and behold, I stumbled onto Wynwood, and their FANTASTIC information on why protein isn't always the devil when it comes to a renal diet - it's the phosphorous from bone meal, and big companies almost always use it as filler. Straight protein from a meat source is broken down differently.
I showed their Low Fat Renal Support food to my vet, who said, and I very much quote, "It sounds like a dream come true."
I started my girl on it and haven't looked back. Her values have stabilized. Some have improved but, as well know, renal disease can't be cured, only slowed. Her pancreatitis flares haven't come up since getting onto this food either, and she's stabilized at a healthy weight now too. Plus my little picky eater rarely ever turns her nose up at this, she dances for it every day at meal times.
She'll be on this food until she crosses the rainbow bridge - And her sister will be on the Cardiac Support food until she does as well.
