Use this as a starting point, not a number you need to hit exactly. Keep an eye on your dog's weight and body condition, and adjust as needed. You know your dog best.

Storing it

Your food arrives frozen. Keep it in the freezer, then move a packet to the refrigerator the night before you need it. Once thawed, keep it sealed and refrigerated, and use it within five days.

What you may notice

During the first week, you may notice smaller, firmer stools. Some dogs also drink a little less because fresh food contains more moisture. If stools become loose, stay at the last comfortable step of the transition for a few more days before moving forward.

A number needs context.

Dog food labels make comparison harder than it should be. We show nutrients in grams per 1,000 calories, so you can see what your dog is really getting.

Dogs need a certain number of calories each day. How much food it takes to provide them depends on the food's moisture and calorie density. Showing nutrients per 1,000 calories makes it easier to see what your dog is actually getting and compare one food with another.

Every number shown here is a measured value, not a label minimum or maximum. It reflects the nutrient levels this recipe was formulated to provide.

Protein 109.1 g per 1,000 kcal
Fat 54.2 g per 1,000 kcal
Carbohydrate 45.1 g per 1,000 kcal
Fiber 6.4 g per 1,000 kcal
