Does Wynwood Urinary Support work for calcium oxalate stones?
Yes. Wynwood Urinary Support is formulated for the long-term management of dogs with calcium oxalate uroliths. It controls calcium at 1.7 grams and magnesium at 0.12 grams per 1,000 kcal, and limits oxalate-contributing ingredients.
Does Wynwood Urinary Support dissolve struvite stones?
Wynwood Urinary Support is formulated for dogs with sterile struvite uroliths and restricts struvite precursors. Sterile struvite is distinct from infection-induced struvite, which usually needs antibiotics as well. Your veterinarian determines which type your dog has before diet is used for dissolution.
Why is sodium higher in Wynwood Urinary Support?
The sodium level in Wynwood Urinary Support is deliberately elevated to 1.8 grams per 1,000 kcal. Higher sodium encourages a dog to drink more, which dilutes the urine and makes it harder for crystals to form. This is why the diet is not appropriate for dogs with hypertension or kidney disease.
What is in Wynwood Urinary Support?
Wynwood Urinary Support is made from ground beef, long grain white rice, egg, cauliflower and blueberries, plus calcium carbonate, safflower oil, algae oil and Wynwood's VitaMineral Mix, supplying 60 grams of protein and 56 grams of fat per 1,000 kcal.
