Your dog's kidneys are losing their ability to filter waste, and that will not reverse. What it will do is respond. Diet, water and regular bloodwork all change how fast this moves.
By the time kidney disease shows symptoms, more than sixty percent of kidney function is usually already gone. Which is why the work starts the day you find out, not the day your dog starts seeming unwell.
What the kidneys do

Storing it
