We want to make sure you always get our Wynwood dog food at its freshest. Because smaller dogs need less food, that means smaller packages to ship, which thaw in transit more quickly.
To work around this, our subscription offer starts at four weeks of dog food for dogs under 10lbs.

How we worked this out
Digestive disorders
Why food is part ofthe treatment.
A digestive diagnosis is a category rather than a single condition. Different causes, different parts of the tract, different presentations, but the same consequence: a gut that is inflamed, out of balance, or both.
The gut is also where roughly seventy percent of your dog's immune system lives. Which is why digestive disease rarely stays quiet, and why what passes through it matters more here than almost anywhere else.
What the digestive system does
Break food down and take it in. The small intestine absorbs nearly all of the nutrients and water. The large intestine recovers fluid and houses the microbiome, trillions of organisms that regulate inflammation and hold the intestinal barrier together.
Why nutrition matters
An inflamed gut has less capacity, so the food has to ask less of it. Highly digestible ingredients leave less unprocessed material behind, which means less to ferment, less irritation, and less work. The other half of the job is the microbiome, which can be fed directly.

What it looks like
What it means
1
Hard, dry, crumbly. Often passed as pellets.
May signal dehydration or too little fiber.
2
Firm, well formed, minimal residue.
This is the target.
3
Moist, holds shape but softer. Leaves residue.
Borderline. Worth watching.
4 to 5
Very moist, losing form. Soft logs to shapeless piles.
Consistent scores here are a reason to call.
6 to 7
No defined shape. Loose piles to watery puddles.
Warrants a vet visit, especially if it recurs.

Use this as a starting point, not a number you need to hit exactly. Keep an eye on your dog's weight and body condition, and adjust as needed. You know your dog best.
Storing it
Your food arrives frozen. Keep it in the freezer, then move a packet to the refrigerator the night before you need it. Once thawed, keep it sealed and refrigerated, and use it within five days.
Freezer spaceWhat you may notice
During the first week, you may notice smaller, firmer stools. Some dogs also drink a little less because fresh food contains more moisture. If stools become loose, stay at the last comfortable step of the transition for a few more days before moving forward.
A numberneeds context.
Dog food labels make comparison harder than it should be. We show nutrients in grams per 1,000 calories, so you can see what your dog is really getting.
Dogs need a certain number of calories each day. How much food it takes to provide them depends on the food's moisture and calorie density. Showing nutrients per 1,000 calories makes it easier to see what your dog is actually getting and compare one food with another.
Every number shown here is a measured value, not a label minimum or maximum. It reflects the nutrient levels this recipe was formulated to provide.
