About Our Fresh Food
Fresh food, our story, and how we make every meal.
Fresh dog food is cooked food made with whole ingredients and kept refrigerated or frozen rather than processed for room-temperature storage. Wynwood meals arrive frozen and are ready to serve after thawing.
See how to feed fresh →Fresh food offers:
- recognizable whole-food ingredients
- naturally high moisture
- fully cooked meals kept fresh by freezing
- a variety of proteins and textures
- a taste and aroma many dogs enjoy
Our mission is simple: make the best dog food possible with whole-food ingredients. We started in a 1,750-square-foot Miami facility in 2015, and we remain focused on fresh nutrition for healthy dogs and dogs with specific nutritional needs.
We cook our food in our own Miami facility. At our Wynwood location, customers can see the team preparing food behind the counter.
Learn about our food →No. We make the food ourselves in our Miami facility instead of outsourcing production to a co-packer.
It is fully cooked, never raw. There is no cooking required at home.
We preserve freshness by freezing the food. Keep unopened packs frozen, thaw them in the refrigerator, and refrigerate after opening.

What is in the food, how it is formulated, and what each line is for.
We offer five Complete & Balanced diets for everyday feeding and nine Fresh Rx® therapeutic diets for diagnosed conditions. Fresh Rx® requires veterinary authorization.
Browse all diets →Every Wynwood diet has an AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement. Complete & Balanced diets are formulated and labeled for all life stages, including growth. Fresh Rx® statements vary by formula. Some meet canine-maintenance recommendations, while Renal, Low-Fat Renal, Hepatic, and Urinary are labeled for intermittent or supplemental feeding and should be fed under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
Our Complete & Balanced line is formulated for complete daily feeding at all life stages. Fresh Rx® diets are formulated for specific nutritional needs and their adequacy statements vary by formula. All Fresh Rx® diets should be fed under the supervision of a veterinarian.
Our diets are formulated and reviewed by veterinary and animal nutrition experts, including a board-certified veterinary nutritionist. Each product page includes the ingredients, nutritional information, and adequacy statement for that diet.
Our quality controls include supplier and ingredient validation, formulation review, third-party finished-diet nutrient analysis, toxicology screening, and batch testing for Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria monocytogenes.
vets@wynwooddogfood.com →Wynwood completed a comprehensive digestibility study on 12 diets to evaluate their nutritional performance. We also use finished-product analysis to verify that formulas match their nutritional targets.
View fresh-food study information →Our recipes use whole-food ingredients such as meat, vegetables, fruits, grains or starches, plus the vitamins and minerals needed for the formula. Every product page lists the complete recipe.
We source our ingredients from reputable human food suppliers who meet our strict specification requirements. We do not use meat meals or protein by-products.
All Wynwood diets are gluten-free. We offer both grain-inclusive and grain-free recipes, so check the ingredients on the individual diet page.
Proteins vary by recipe and include beef, chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, venison, and egg.
